Summer Family Medical Volunteer Trip
"To cure sometimes, to relieve often, to comfort always"
Our Story
Every year, my family travels to a rural village in Cambodia to provide medical care for people who have limited access to healthcare. My father, a doctor, leads a volunteer team that sets up a temporary clinic where hundreds of patients—from young children as young as three years old to elderly patients up to 87—come to receive checkups, diagnoses, and medicine for conditions such as infections, chronic pain, and dental problems.
Witnessing these experiences and the realities of global health inequality became the main inspiration for me to found Brighter Futures, with the goal of supporting communities that lack access to basic healthcare, education, and resources.
